dam Glen mt.1521
1923 ..... THE STORY
dawn on December 1, 1923, Francis Morzenti overseer of the dam floor Glen (BG) received a call from the central Electric Molino di Povo, about seven o'clock in the morning: the caller told him to increase the flow of water sent to the central idroelettrica.Morzenti left the control booth and walked towards the footbridge below the dam, underneath the massive pillars in the middle of gola.Era dark, drizzling and had already had the first snow whitened the Charity cime.Mentre the fly to open the exhaust valve gate feel 'a thud, a vibration, like a small earthquake, fell sassi.Poi saw a widening crack from one of the masts; flee', barely managing to survive.
This tragic morning of December 1, 1923, six million cubic meters of mud and water poured from the huge crack in the dam on the villages below, causing the deaths of more than five hundred people.
The wave was heralded by a violent gust of wind that investors' the valley starting the destruction, tearing the clothes of those who at that time was outside, followed by the mass of water that, after having devastated the towns of Bueggio and Dezzo defraglazioni and caused the furnace pig iron and hydroelectric power station, went to run out in Lake Iseo
